New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom, arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball, has been out since the start of the 2022 season with a stress reaction in his right shoulder.

Despite his absence, the Mets have performed quite well, and their rotation has been at the center of all of their success.

The two-time NL Cy Young Award Winner has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries over the past two seasons, but has been throwing lately.

Mets insider Anthony DiComo has an update on deGrom, tweeting that today he is headed for a third MRI on his right shoulder, and that if the results are favorable, he can soon start ramping up activities.

Jacob deGrom (stress reaction in right scapula) is scheduled for another MRI today — his third since late March.

deGrom has already been throwing off flat ground, so if the results are good on this one, he can conceivably start ramping up soon.

This is a huge update for the Mets and their fans.

deGrom is clearly progressing quite well and is soon going to be ready to ramp up activities, assuming the results of the MRI are good.

The Mets have gotten key contributions from guys like Max Scherzer, Tylor Megill, and Chris Bassitt.

The rotation is dangerous as it is, but just imagine how dangerous it’s going to be when deGrom finally comes back.

It will only further solidify this rotation as the best in all of baseball.

Mets fans are certainly excited for the opportunity to have deGrom back in action next to Scherzer.

This Mets team is quite good and has been led by their rotation, which will only get better if deGrom’s MRI comes back clean and he can ramp up his throwing program soon.

The sooner he can ramp up, the sooner he’ll make his return.

This is what Mets fans have been longing to see and is now something that could happen very soon.
