After receiving the retro treatment for the first time a little over two years ago, the Nike LeBron 9 has enjoyed harkening back to its 2014 in-line colorways such as the “Arnold Palmer”, “South Coast” and “Big Bang”. While the silhouette remained relatively reserved throughout the summer months, the first proposition since its hiatus returns this Sunday in the teal and red combination of the “Reverse Liverpool” ensemble.

Paying tribute to LeBron’s savvy business nature and subsequent 2011 purchase of a 2% stake in Liverpool F.C., The Swoosh is flipping the color palette of the previously dominant “Action Red” model for a low-cut version utilizing the former as an accent throughout its cursive Swoosh branding, underlying quarter overlay and semi-translucent full-length Zoom Air bag fit with a color-matched tread underfoot. The synthetic mesh of the upper is treated in a healthy sampling of “New Green” that additionally treats the laces stitched with black diamond accents while the jet black Swoosh employs the titular red for its trim. The latter darkened scheme additionally dawns the tongue construction and inner lining rendering an understated black tone before icy white hues interject across the midsole and Liverpool badge logo bearing the heel counter.
